WILDLIFE  @ THE COVE

We have been asked to include a recurring section covering the wildlife which inhabit our property.  Along with this idea some of our readers have included the following photographs .

These beautiful birds come and go with the seasons.   Blue herons and ibis.

This hungry otter was seen eating a fish on the banks of our Pasadena Cove pond.

An Iguana probably  of the "green" family. Look but don't touch

Manatee love our marina.  The shot on the left is a group sheltering in one  of our slips.  The one   right below is a new born and Mommy.  Provided by Bob Frank, who Incidentally gave us the idea for the "Wild Life @ the Cove " feature.

For years, we've had a pair of Night Herons nesting at Pasadena Cove. Their nest/home is an Oak Tree overhanging the boundary road,  just south of the main  entrance. You have to look up in the spring to see them. (But don't take your eyes off the road.)

The chicks are seen at various stages: nesting, testing their wings around the Cove, then leaving us in July.

The chicks like our pond-a favorite training flight destination.  Photos and By line by Jack Cronin

Remember the Yellow Crowned Night Herons? Their Back!
